Pilgrimage Truths

Pilgrims on the Way: Camino de Santiago de Compostela by photographer Jill K H Geoffrion

As we go in search of God,
God walks with us.

We travel far
to move into the sure knowledge that
God was at home,
God is on the road,
God waits for us where we will arrive.

The call to journey
towards God
is unrelenting.
We leave the Known Presence
in search of the Unknown Presence.

On the way
we discover God-close-by
and God-far-away.

Returning home,
Sacred Encounter resonates within
re-tuning us
to reverberate Presence.

Echo Truth,
Pilgrim.

“Now on that same day [of Christ’s resurrection] two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and went with them, but their eyes were kept from recognizing him.” Luke 14:13-16 (NRSV)

Mini-pilgrimage

Ask yourself, “Does God seem close or far away?”
Use colored markers, pencils or paint to express your current experience of God’s nearness
or distance.
If you would prefer, use words
or notes .
