Hearing The Camino’s Call

On the road,

even before one is on the physical road.

On the way,

even when the way isn’t clear.

Moving towards

something.

Something else.

Or is the purpose of going away

to come home?

Is the best preparation

attentively being here?

My commitment

wants to do something.

To demonstrate its sincerity

by working hard.

Of course, it will help

to train my body and spirit.

Of course, thoughtful consideration

will make a way for wise action.

Of course, listening to those who have gone before

will orient me.

If each day is a part of my pilgrimage,

what am I receiving?

What am I learning?

What am I becoming?

Pilgrim, be here.

In time, you will be there.
