Chartres Pass
This is a way to visit Chartres at special rates. There are discounts for admissions and restaurants.

For a set price (15,00 Euros in 2009) you can visit a number of different places in Chartres including: The Museum of Beaux Arts, The Old Town on foot or on the Little Train, The International Center of Stained Glass, The Conservatory of Agriculture and The Archeology Museum, and anaudioguide tour of the cathedral.

You are also entitled to special offers and/or a discount (up to 30% depending on the location) on crypt tours, admission to the north tower of the cathedral, at Little Venice (of Chartres), The Theater of Chartres, the Gallerie du Vitrail, and at a number of various local hotels (le Châtelet, and le Jehan de Beauce), restaurants (McDonalds, Restaumarché, Au Petit Chaudron, le Bistrot de la Cathédrale, Brasserie H4, le Café des Arts, le Café Marceau, la Crêperie des 3 Lys, la Passacaille, le Picoterie, le Saint-Hilaire, le Tripot, la Voûte Romane), and bars (Academie de la Bière and Ella Vannin.

The Chartres Pass can be bought at the Tourist Office. It is good for one calendar year and can be shared (if there are tickets in it that you don't want to use).

If you press "request for doc" on their first page, you will have the opportunity to receive literature about the city, a city map, list of hotels and restaurants, a list of bed and breakfasts and holiday apartments, and an events schedule.

 

The office is open 7 days a week. It is located between the train station and the cathedral. The staff are helpful. Ask for what you want. There is usually someone who can help you in English.

Hours:
From April 1 to the end of September: Monday-Saturday 9.am-7.pm; Saturdays & bank holidays: 9:30 am-5:30 pm.

From October 1 to March 31: Monday-Saturday 10 am-6 pm; Saturdays & bank holidays: 10:00-1:00 pm & 2:30 pm-4:30 pm.

 

Services include hotel reservation service, rental service for apartments, ticket reservation service (concerts, cultural events, etc.), guided and self-guided tours, city maps, and general information. There are also posters and books relating to Chartres on sale. The also offer a free wi-fi connection (see below).

 

Wi Fi
If you have your laptop computer with you, you can connect to the internet in the Tourist Office. There are places to sit. There is no charge.
